I bought an embroidery machine!

 Hey, how are you?

I have wanted an embroidery machine for the longest time and a couple of weeks ago I decided that life is too short to wait.

So, here I am with my Bernette B70 deco. Yep she’s pretty big!

With a huge amount of choice out there and a big price range too I thought very carefully about which machine to choose.

I also didn’t want to be in a situation where I outgrew my machine quickly.

Some of the reasons I chose the Bernette:

  • 3 hoop sizes, 160 x 260 mm Quick Release Hoop
    120 x 180 mm Quick Release Hoop
    50 x 70 mm Quick Release Hoop
  • Software included worth £440
  • Reliable Brand (bernette is an arm of Bernina)
  • Ability to use pretty much every file format

There’s a learning curve for sure and experience with sewing machines will help you when you get your first embroidery machine.

As a bag maker I want to incorporate embroidery into my makes and although I haven’t done that yet, I have loved being able to use my vinyl and fabric scraps on the projects I’ve  made so far.

I’m learning the embroidery machine lingo and these are called ‘in the hoop’ designs. I bought the files from Crashing Waves Designs  and they were super easy to import to my machine.

Simply download the file to a memory stick from your computer and once you put the memory stick into your embroidery machine the design is ready to stitch out.
